Tyndale House Publishers completes acquisition of Hendrickson Publishing Group
Tyndale House Publishers and Hendrickson Publishing Group have announced that Hendrickson Publishing Group has been acquired by Tyndale House Publishers. “Hendrickson Publishing Group is a trusted house in our industry,” stated Jeff Johnson, president and COO of Tyndale House. “Their catalog of products and expertise in the academic sphere will be a perfect complement to Tyndale’s efforts in meeting the needs of readers seeking sound biblical content for reference and study.”

Today HarperCollins Christian Publishing (HCCP) announced Angela Guzman as senior editor for the publishing team that works on refreshing and revitalizing previously published material. Guzman has worked for HCCP for four years and has over 15 years of writing, editing, and publicity experience. She has worked with authors including Jack Countryman, John Eldredge, Bob Goff, Emily Ley, and Max Lucado.

Management teams in Christian publishing will hear from thought leaders and experts on issues affecting the industry at the ECPA Virtual Leadership Summit — a series of webinars launching April 27 with an opening keynote by NPD’s Kristen McLean on “Reading is Thriving: Opportunities for Christian Publishers.” Sessions will continue on April 28-29 and May 4-6 and include roundtable discussions on the topics that center around the theme, “Resilient Leadership in this Cultural Moment.”
The latest speaker to be added to the program is Nikki Toyama-Szeto, Executive Director of Christians for Social Action. She will join the panel with David French (The Dispatch) and Michelle Sanchez (Evangelical Covenant Church), moderated by CT president Timothy Dalrymple on what it means to be evangelical in this cultural moment.
Christian Book Award winners to be named in live webcast with Max Lucado on May 6
On May 6 at 1 pm central, ECPA will stream the ECPA Awards Celebration featuring the presentation of the 2021 Christian Book Awards® and Christian Book of the Year®. Bestselling author Max Lucado will receive the industry’s Pinnacle Award. Sales milestones and other industry honors will also be presented. The webcast is free, but registration is required. Those attending the ECPA Leadership Summit will already have access to the event.

The ECPA board of directors recently approved and welcomed the following new members to ECPA:
- 1517 Publishing produces theological and apologetic resources rooted in the tradition of the Reformation.
- Bible League Canada serves the Canadian market, publishing unique resources and partnering with international agencies for distribution and sales.
- EMF Publishing will operate under the imprints of K-LOVE Books and Air1 Books and will publish books in the categories of Memoir, Biography, Christian Living, and Children’s Resources.
- End Game Press is a traditional publishing house serving both the general and Christian markets in the genres of children’s, nonfiction, and fiction.
Books & Such Literary Management celebrates 25 years serving Christian publishing
Books & Such Literary Management, which was founded by innovator Janet Kobobel Grant in 1996, is celebrating 25 years serving its authors and the Christian publishing industry.

Podcaster inks deal for ‘Love Letter to Black Women’ with WaterBrook & Multnomah
Publishers Weekly — World rights to tentatively titled “Remember Me Now” by Faitth Brooks have gone to Becky Nesbitt at WaterBrook & Multnomah. The speaker, activist, and cohost of the Melanated Faith podcast describes the book as a love letter to Black women written through the author’s story of self-discovery and search for value and significance in a world that denies that truth at every turn. Jevon Bolden of Embolden Media Group negotiated the deal. Tentative release date is summer 2022.
