ECPA to present Industry Awards Celebration webcast on Wednesday
This Wednesday at 2 pm central time, ECPA will present a webcast dedicated to honoring the industry’s milestones in 2020 – including the presentation of Sales Milestone Awards to 70 titles that received Bronze, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond awards. In addition, the Kenneth N. Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to industry veteran STAN GUNDRY, Senior VP & Publisher and Editor-in-Chief for HarperCollins Christian Publishing, for his 40+ year impact on Christian publishing. And the Pinnacle Award will be presented to bestselling author STORMIE OMARTIAN for the exceptional impact of The Power of a Praying® series, which has sold over 31 million units worldwide.

ECPA announces the winners of The Christy Award®
ECPA named the 2020 winners of The Christy Award® in nine fiction categories during the Christy Award Winners Webcast on Thursday evening, along with the Christy Book of the Year. The online event was viewed by an estimated 500+ authors and writers, publishers and industry professionals, readers and fans, to honor the year’s best in Christian fiction – and featured New York Times bestselling author LISA WINGATE as keynote and award-winning novelist CHRIS FABRY as emcee.
Debut novelist Amanda Dykes wins the 2020 Christy Book of the Year Award
On Thursday, November 12, ECPA announced the 2020 Christy Award winners in a virtual webcast. Three Baker Publishing Group authors were recipients of this prestigious award including Amanda Dykes, whose debut novel “Whose Waves These Are” (Bethany House) received the 2020 Christy Book of the Year Award. “Whose Waves These Are” also won a Christy Award in the General Fiction category.

Today, the Anti-Defamation League and the Aspen Institute announced the Class of 2020 and 2021 of the Civil Society Fellowship, a program to prepare and engage the next generation of community and civic leaders from across the political spectrum. Dr. Theon E. Hill, Associate Professor at Wheaton College — who has spoken at several ECPA events, served on the ECPA PubU Brain Trust, and most recently led a very well received Diversity & Inclusion track at ECPA PubU Online — is one of 49 named to the prestigious program. “This Fellowship cultivates the next generation of purpose-driven, values-based leaders—exactly what America needs right now,” said Dan Porterfield, President and CEO of the Aspen Institute.
