Nominations for the 2018 Christian Book Award® program are now accepted through September 30 in these 11 categories: Bibles, Bible Reference works, Bible Study, Ministry Resources, Biography & Memoir, Christian Living, Faith & Culture, Devotion & Gift, Children (ages 0-8), Young People’s Literature (ages 9-16 non-fiction), and New Author.
New releases show strength in September’s Christian Bestseller lists
The ECPA Bestseller lists for September, reflecting sales in August as compiled by NPD BookScan, reveal a strong showing for new releases. Among the Top 50 bestsellers overall, 14 were released in August. This compares with 13 new releases in the Top 50 lists for June, July and August combined. Four books released in August appeared in the Top 10 for September. Of Mess and Moxie by Jen Hatmaker (Thomas Nelson) debuted at #2, right behind Five Love Languages. The signed edition appears as #40. Last week, Hatmaker’s new book made it to #2 on the New York Times advice, how-to & misc. bestsellers list and #1 on the Publishers Weekly adult hardcover nonfiction list.
Holman Bibles provides free Bible to every independent Christian bookstore employee that completes CSB training
