Thomas Nelson launches new imprint
Thomas Nelson introduces Emanate Books, its new charismatic Christian publishing imprint. The word “emanate” means, “something abstract, but perceptible, that spreads out from a source.” This new imprint will publish books that emanate God’s love to a hurting world. Joel Kneedler, former associate publisher with W Publishing, will serve as publisher of Emanate Books.

PubU, the annual training and networking event for publishing practitioners, will be held in Nashville at Lipscomb University on November 7-8. Dave Schroeder (VP Marketing, B&H) and Jennifer Lyell (VP Trade Publishing, LifeWay Christian Resources) will head up the event’s planning committee – called the PubU Brain Trust. This committee will develop the sessions and invite speakers in six publishing tracks: Marketing & Publicity, Editorial, Reader Engagement, Design, Data/Delivery/Workflow, and Rights. ”Dave and Jennifer are assembling a strong and diverse team of publishing professionals who will develop an incredible PubU program,” states ECPA executive director Stan Jantz. “We look forward to announcing the full team very soon.” Save the date, plan to attend, and sign up for program updates at ECPAPubU.org. HarperCollins Christian gives independent Christian retailers a big boost

INTERQUEST, a leading market and technology research and consulting firm serving the digital printing and publishing industry, today announced speakers for the 2017 London Digital Book Printing Forum, which will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 9:00 to 17:00 at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The full-day educational event focuses on key trends in the book market, the evolution of book manufacturing and the supply chain, and the use of digital printing to produce books.

Adventures in Odyssey celebrates 30 years with “Get in the Show” contest
To celebrate the 30th birthday of Adventures in Odyssey, auditions are now being held through June 16 in bookstores across the country for the chance for one youth (ages 6 to 15) to perform live with the cast of this beloved audio drama series. Fan voting will begin on June 26 and continue throughout July, after which three finalists will be chosen by fans and flown to Colorado Springs, CO, to audition before a live audience on August 12 at Focus on the Family headquarters.

Africa Study Bible launches in Chicago
Hundreds of Moody Bible Institute students, faculty, and distinguished guests joined together April 10-12 to learn about the explosive growth and future of the church in Africa as part of the African Voices Conference, hosted by Oasis International in partnership with Tyndale House Publishers and Urban Ministries, Inc. (UMI). The conference also served as the United States launch of the Africa Study Bible, the first study Bible developed by Africans with over 2,600 notes written by 350 contributors from 50 countries (Oasis International/Tyndale House Publishers).
