PubU Emerging Leader nomination deadline is this Friday
For the eighth year, ECPA’s Publishing University will include the popular Emerging Leader scholarship and mentor program, coordinated this year by Harambee Press managing editor Edwina Perkins. ECPA members are invited to nominate new and diverse voices in their houses to receive a scholarship to ECPA PubU Online – featuring training webinars in six publishing tracks led by Christian publishing leaders this fall — and be matched with an industry mentor throughout the next year. The deadline to nominate an emerging leader from your ECPA company is this Friday, Sep. 22.
Christian fiction celebrated with Thursday evening webcasts for publishers, writers, fans
The Christy Award® program for Christian fiction will present Thursday evening virtual events this fall. Bookended by the award’s Finalists Reveal (Oct. 12) and Winners Gala (Nov. 16) to honor the year’s best in Christian fiction and featuring Janette Oke, Davis Bunn, and Chris Fabry — will be the evening webinar program called Art of Writing held Oct. 19 & 26, Nov. 2 & 9 hosted by award-winning novelists and fiction publishers.

JustRead Rendezvous will host watch party for The Christy Awards, Nov. 16 in St. Louis
Authors and readers are invited to the inaugural JustRead Rendezvous in St. Louis on November 17 to celebrate Christian fiction. The event will include The Christy Award Winners Gala Watch Party on November 16 from 5:30 p.m. until the webcast conclusion. The evening’s activities will include snacks and giveaways.

DigitalMediaCon 4.0, the Evangelical Press Association’s virtual conference held Oct. 24-26, will feature 16 sessions on digital communications and e-marketing for Christian communicators, with a special focus this year on AI. ECPA members can register at the discounted member rate.

Publishing in Color opens registration for its virtual conference, Oct. 30 to Nov. 3
Publishing in Color, a conference that connects publishers with writers of color directed by Joyce Dinkins, has opened registration for its virtual conference offered October 30 to November 3. Conferees receive a stream of workshops plus live question-and-answer opportunities with presenters. Literary agents, editors, creative directors and other publishing professionals also provide registrants with one-on-one appointment opportunities.
MAI global publishing conference to be held in Mexico in 2024
Media Associates International is pleased to announce the LittWorld 2024 global publishing conference will take place November 3-8, 2024, in Puebla, Mexico. More than 200 Christian publishing staff and writers from 40-plus countries are expected at this first LittWorld to be held in a Spanish-speaking country.
